Berea, OH – The Cleveland Browns made several roster alterations on Wednesday.
Defensive lineman Marcus Benard was placed on the reserve/non-football injury list as a result of a broken arm he suffered in a motorcycle accident following the team's practice on Monday.
He appeared in the first four games of the season as a reserve.
The team also elevated defensive lineman Auston English to the active roster to replace Benard and signed defensive lineman Kiante Tripp to the practice squad.
English posted an NFL-leading four sacks in the preseason.
Tripp spent training camp with the Atlanta Falcons after signing as an undrafted free agent on July 27. The Georgia native played in two preseason contests and registered four tackles before being waived by the Falcons on September 2.
