A release said Dr. Richard Steadman performed the surgery Monday in Vail, Colorado. The recovery for the procedure is six-to-eight weeks, and Sizemore is expected to be ready for next season's spring training.
"We could not be happier with the results of Monday's arthroscopy," Sizemore said in the release. "Dr. Steadman told me this minor procedure should allow the bone bruise in my right knee to fully heal."
Sizemore played in only 71 games this past season because of a multitude of injuries. He opened the season on the disabled list as he recovered from microfracture surgery on his left knee, then missed two weeks in May with a right knee contusion.
He suffered another contusion in mid-July, and had surgery to repair a sports hernia on July 21.
Sizemore hit .224 with 10 homers and 32 RBI this season, his eighth in the majors.
