New York Rangers defenseman Marc Staal opening two-game series in Stockholm.

Rangers head coach John Tortorella revealed the news on Monday afternoon, since the 24-year-old blueliner is still bothered by headaches that may or may not be related to a concussion he suffered in February.

New York starts its 2011-12 season with games on back-to-back days in Sweden's capital city, taking on the Kings on Friday and the Ducks on Saturday. The Blueshirts return to North America on October 15 to play the rival Islanders at Uniondale.

Staal posted seven goals and 29 points in 77 games last season, his fourth in the NHL.
