Porto, Portugal – Uruguay international Alvaro Pereira has extended his contract with FC Porto by another year, it was confirmed on Monday.
The 25-year-old joined Porto from CFR Cluj two years ago and his new deal ties him to the Portuguese champions until June 2016 with a buyout clause of $40 million.
Pereira helped Porto win the treble last season and he was a member of the Uruguay side that claimed the Copa America title this past summer.
