B.J. Staten recovered late to shoot a five- shot lead into the final round of the WNB Golf Classic.

Staten, who has never won professionally, led by as many as four before a late double-bogey dropped him into a tie for first with three holes to play. A birdie at the 17th, however, put him in position -- at 18-under 198 -- for a win on Sunday at Midland Country Club.

Staten had an eagle and five birdies to go with the lone double-bogey on Saturday.

Gavin Coles shot a seven-under 65 and briefly shared first before a bogey dropped him into second at 16-under 200. Having endured a stretch of 12 straight cuts missed earlier this season, Coles will be in the final pairing Sunday with a chance to capture his fifth Nationwide Tour victory.

Harris English shot the low round of the day -- 10-under 62 -- to move up 28 spots to third at 15-under. Craig Bowden (66) is fourth at 14-under, while Danny Lee (68), Cliff Kresge (70) and Miguel Angel Carballo (71) share fifth at minus-12.

Jake Younan-Wise, who shared the second-round lead with Staten, slipped to a three-over 75 and tumbled into a share of 12th at 10-under.
