Scott Vernon's hat trick helped Aberdeen 0 win over Dunfermline on Friday at Pittodrie Stadium.

The Dons jumped into the lead after six minutes when Vernon headed home a cross from Richard Foster, and he added his second tally of the game by scoring from close range after a flicked pass from Youl Mawene.

Fraser Fyvie added a third goal for Aberdeen just before halftime and Vernon completed his hat trick in the 80th minute when Mohamed Chalali's long-range shot struck the post and the striker picked up the rebound and fired it home.

On Saturday, Rangers tries to extend its winning streak to nine games when the club hosts Hibernian, while Dundee United entertains a Motherwell side that has lost three of its last five games.

Inverness sits on the bottom of the league having claimed one point from its last three games and the club squares off with St Mirren, St Johnstone and Kilmarnock are separated by two points in the middle of the table and they meet up at Rugby Park while the lone match on Sunday features Celtic traveling to Hearts for a top-four clash.
