Los Angeles Dodgers shortstop Dee Gordon was named National League Rookie of the Month for September.

Gordon hit .372 with seven doubles, one triple, six RBI, 21 runs scored and 12 stolen bases in 26 games during September. His 42 hits also led the Senior Circuit in the final month of 2011.

The 23-year-old added a .451 slugging percentage and a .398 on-base percentage. Gordon had a career-best 11-game hitting streak from September 13-24, batting .400 with 10 runs scored during the streak.

On the season, the Florida native finished the season with a .304 batting average, 11 RBI, nine doubles, two triples and 34 runs scored in 56 games.

Other rookies receiving votes included Gordon's teammates Kenley Jansen and Javy Guerra, Washington Nationals catcher Wilson Ramos, Cincinnati Reds infielder Juan Francisco and outfielder Yonder Alonso, New York Mets outfielder Lucas Duda, Pittsburgh Pirates outfielder Alex Presley, Arizona Diamondbacks first baseman Paul Goldschmidt and San Diego Padres right-hander Anthony Bass.
