GOLDEN PERFORMANCES

Mirai Nagasu (Arcadia, Calif.) won the ladies title by more than 20 points at the Nebelhorn Trophy competition in Oberstdorf, Germany on Sept. 24, while the newly formed team of Madison Hubbell (Lansing, Mich.) and Zach Donohue (Hartford, Conn.) earned gold in their first international competition together.

ARCHERY Brady Ellison (Glendale, Ariz.) took his second consecutive World Cup Final title with a 6-2 win against China on Sept. 25 in Istanbul, Turkey.

BOXING

Team USA had a successful start at the 2011 AIBA Men's World Championships on Sept. 26 in Baku, Azerbaijan. Both light flyweight Eros Correa (San Jose, Calif.) and heavyweight Joseph Williams (Queens, N.Y.) claimed opening round victories.

CYCLING

Tyler Farrar(Wenatchee, Wash.) gave Team USA its first top-10 finish in the elite men's road race in nearly 10 years at the UCI Road World Championships on Sept. 25 in Copenhagen, Denmark. Taylor Phinney (Boulder, Colo.) finished 24th. Kristo Jorgenson(Boise, Idaho) and Amber Neben (Irvine, Calif.) earned top-10 finishes in the junior men and elite women's time trials on Sept. 20.

Logan Binggeli (Saint George, Utah) descended into a Stars-and-Stripes jersey, defeating Aaron Gwin (Temecula, Calif.) by nearly four seconds in the men's pro downhill at the 2011 USA Cycling Mountain Bike Gravity National Championships on Sept. 25 in Beech Mountain, N.C. Mitch Ropelato (Ogden, Utah) topped the men's pro dual slalom podium on Sept. 24 and earned the bronze medal.

GYMNASTICS

Team USA competed in the all-around competition, finishing 20th in the Rhythmic World Championships on Sept. 24 in Montpellier, France. They recorded scores of 24.775 for their five ball routine and a 21.650 in the three ribbon and two hoop routine, giving them a 46.425 total score.

Lexie Priessman (Cincinnati, Ohio) won three gold medals and Amelia Hundley (Hamilton, Ohio) claimed three medals, dominating three of the four women's individual event finals on Sept. 25 at the 2011 Japan Junior International in Yokohama, Japan.

EQUESTRIAN

The U.S. Pony Drivers drove a confident cones phase to secure the team bronze medal at the 2011 FEI Pony World Driving Championships in Lipica, Slovenia on Sept. 25. Their three-phase total of 402.3 guaranteed the bronze behind driving powerhouse nations, Germany and The Netherlands. Suzy Stafford (Glen Gardner, N.J.) drove an impeccable cones phase securing her second consecutive individual bronze medal.

SHOOTING

Sarah Scherer (Woburn, Mass.) shot 395 match points and 102 points in the final for a total of 497 points to finish sixth in the women's 10m air rifle event at the ISSF World Cup Final in Wroclaw, Poland on Sept. 24.

The first leg of the U.S. Olympic Trials for Shotgun in Kerrville, Texas concluded on Sept. 25 where Jake Turner (Richmond, Wash.) currently leads with 240 out of 250 targets in men's trap, while Caitlin Weinheimer (Kerrville, Texas) took a strong lead on her home range with 234 out of 250 targets in women's trap.

SOCCER

The U.S. Women's National Team defeated Canada 3-0 with Abby Wambach (Rochester, N.Y.) scoring a pair of second half goals in front of a near sell- out crowd of 18,570 in the second match of the two-game "Celebration Series" in Portland, Ore., on Sept. 22. Alex Morgan (Diamond Bar, Calif) added the third goal for Team USA during second-half stoppage time.

VOLLEYBALL

Jen Kessy (San Juan Capistrano, Calif.) and April Ross (Costa Mesa, Calif.) won their first domestic women's title of the season while Casey Jennings (Las Vegas, Nev.) and Pedro Salgado (Rio de Janeiro, Brazil) won the men's crown on Sept. 25 at the Hermosa Beach Open, part of the Jose Cuervo Pro Beach Series, in Hermosa Beach, Calif.

WATER SKI

Kyle Tate (Winter Garden, Fla.) won the 6th O'Brien Big Dawg Slalom Series Championship on Sept. 24 at Okeeheelee Park in West Palm Beach, Fla.

Zack Worden (Deltona, Fla.) captured the men's jumping title on Sept. 25 at the IWWF Water Ski & Wakeboard World Cup event in Linyi City, China.
