Chiba, Japan – Yuko Mitsuka posted a three-under 69 on Sunday to win the LPGA Championship Konica Minolta Cup, a major championship on the LPGA of Japan.
She finished at six-under 282 and won by a stroke over Shanshan Feng, who fired a four-under 68 in the final round.
Mitsuka made international headlines last year. At the World Ladies Championship, she was penalized for slow play and stormed off the course after the two-stroke penalty was assessed.
The tour fined her a record amount for the tantrum and Mitsuka took it a step further. She banned herself from 11 tournaments as an additional punishment for her behavior.
Sakura Yokomine, the third-round leader, struggled to a four-over 76 and fell into third place at minus-two.
