New England aims to bounce back against FC Dallas

After a disappointing result midweek, the New England Revolution will have the dubious challenge of trying to rebound against Western Conference powerhouse FC Dallas.

New England led the Philadelphia Union 4-1 at halftime on Wednesday, but conceded three second-half goals to only come away with a 4-4 draw.

The draw was consistent with New England previous two matches in league play.

The Revolution led Red Bull New York 2-0 at the half on August 20, but surrendered the lead in the second half to draw 2-2. And in a 1-1 draw with the Houston Dynamo on August 17, an early goal from Ryan Cochrane was canceled out by a 90th minute strike from Bobby Boswell.

"The group's shown the whole season that they are committed and they want to win," New England head coach Steve Nicol told MLSsoccer.com. "We just haven't finished it off when we should have on too many occasions so far this season, particularly the last three games."

New England, tied with Toronto FC for last place in the Eastern Conference with 24 points, will have to try and bounce back in a what is sure to be a tough match against one of the league's top teams in FC Dallas.

FC Dallas sits in third in the West, and MLS, with 46 points from 27 games this season.

In its last outing, FC Dallas earned a dramatic 3-2 win at Sporting Kansas City on August 27, scoring two goals late in the match secure three points.

Brek Shea leads FC Dallas with ten goals on the year, but against Sporting he underlined his abilities as a provider, setting up both late goals to notch his second and third assists of the season.

"That's why Brek's the man, right?" said rookie Bobby Warshaw, who scored the game-winner off a cross from Shea. "He can win you a game at any moment. When Brek gets the ball, you know he is going to do special things. You work hard and you get in the box and you hope good things happen."

FC Dallas has already beaten New England this season, as Marvin Chavez provided the lone goal in a 1-0 win at Pizza Hut Park on June 4.
