Bad day for the Cowboys

The Dallas Cowboys had nothing but bad news to deliver on Wednesday.

The news began with starting cornerback Terence Newman (groin), who didn't practice Wednesday and likely won't play Sunday night at the New York Jets.

During Wednesday's practice, fellow starting cornerback Mike Jenkins left with a knee injury. To make matters worse, starting right tackle Tyron Smith also left with a knee injury.

Jenkins and Smith were having MRIs to determine the severity of their injuries, and are considered day-to-day.

But multiple reports suggested Smith could miss anywhere from two-to-four weeks.

Smith was taken by the Cowboys with the ninth overall pick in this year's draft. Jermey Parnell would start in place of Smith if he can't play in the team's first game of the season.
