Oakland's Wuertz comes off DL

The Oakland Athletics reinstated reliever day disabled list on Friday.

The right-hander landed on the DL for the second time this season July 30 with right thumb tendinitis. He also missed time in April with a strained left hamstring.

Wuertz has a 4.88 earned run average in 34 appearances for the A's.

Oakland also recalled infielder Adam Rosales and outfielder Michael Taylor and selected the contract of pitcher Andrew Carignan from Triple-A Sacramento.

Rosales batted .083 (4-for-48) in 17 games during two stints with the A's earlier this year.

Taylor, who will be looking to make his major league debut, hit .272 with 16 home runs and 64 RBI in 93 games with the River Cats. Oakland acquired Taylor on December 16, 2009 from Toronto after the Blue Jays acquired him in a three- team trade in which they dealt Roy Halladay to Philadelphia and the Phillies traded Cliff Lee to Seattle.

Carignan was 1-0 with a 1.85 ERA in 33 combined games with Sacramento, Double- A Midland and Single-A Stockton this season. The A's transferred infielder Daric Barton to the 60-day DL to make room on the 40-man roster for Carignan.
