Snoqualmie, WA – Russ Cochran posted a six-under 66 on Friday shot lead after the opening round of the Boeing Classic.
Cochran, the Senior British champ earlier this year, had an eagle, five birdies and a bogey at TPC Snoqualmie Ridge to grab the 10th 18-hole lead in his senior career, which spans back only to 2008.
He hasn't had much success when leading after one round, posting only one win so far in his nine chances. Cochran finished sixth in this event a year ago, but followed up a first-round 68 with a 75 that likely cost him a chance at the title.
Four-time Champions Tour winner Jeff Sluman is one shot back at five-under 67, while all-time senior wins leader Hale Irwin, Ted Schulz and defending champion Bernhard Langer are locked in third at minus-four.
Brad Bryant and Kenny Perry are three strokes off the lead at three-under 69.
