San Diego, CA – The Florida Marlins placed relief pitcher day disabled list Thursday with left elbow inflammation, retroactive to August 16.
Choate has appeared in 54 games this season for the Marlins, posting a 1-1 record with a 1.82 earned run average, 31 strikeouts, 13 walks and a 1.05 WHIP.
To fill the roster spot, the Marlins recalled pitcher Chris Hatcher from Double-A Jacksonville of the Southern League.
Hatcher has pitched in one game this year for the Marlins, going one inning in a 13-3 win over the Chicago Cubs on July 16.
In 42 games with Jacksonville this season, Hatcher posted a 2-1 record with 57 strikeouts, 19 walks and a 1.90 ERA.
