Center Sylvia Fowles of the Chicago Sky and guard Diana Taurasi of the Phoenix Mercury have been named the WNBA's Eastern and Western Conference players of the week, respectively, for games played through August 14.

Fowles grabbed her second weekly award of the year for averaging 13.7 rebounds and 25.0 points per game as the Sky went 1-2 during the week. She led the league in rebounding average and finished second in points per game.

Taurasi earned her 14th weekly award of her career as she finished third in the league in scoring at 22.7 points per game to help the Mercury go 2-1 during the week. She leads the WNBA in scoring at 20.9 points per game.

Other candidates for the weekly honors included Atlanta's Angel McCoughtry, Los Angeles' Ticha Penicheiro, Minnesota's Lindsay Whalen, New York's Cappie Pondexter, Phoenix's Penny Taylor, and Washington's Crystal Langhorne.
