The Tampa Bay Lightning skated into Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Quarterfinals with the Pittsburgh Penguins hoping to quickly erase the memories of their Game 1 performance. They did just that early and often.
After 20 minutes of play, the Lightning found themselves leading the Penguins 3-0 on goals from Eric Brewer, Vincent Lecavalier and Nate Thompson. Though Craig Adams was able to slip a puck behind Lightning netminder Dwayne Roloson midway through the second period, the Lightning would rely on their special teams to close out the game.
