Wild re-sign Gillies to two-year deal

The Minnesota Wild and restricted free agent Colton Gillies agreed to a two-year contract, with TSN reporting the deal value at $1.25 million.

Gillies, the 16th pick of the 2007 Entry Draft, had 1 goal in seven NHL games last season, and in 52 career games, the 6-foot-4, 208-pound left wing has 3 goals, 5 assists and 20 penalty minutes.

He played a major role last season with the Houston Aeros, the Wild's American Hockey League affiliate. He had 11 goals and 15 assists in 64 regular-season games, and then added a team-best 7 goals in 24 playoff games to help Houston reach the Calder Cup Finals.
