LONDON (Reuters) - Never mind the heroes and idols on court, a trip to Wimbledon means fans and paparazzi alike can also catch a glimpse of non-tennis celebrities enjoying the high life.
Only three days into the tournament and an array of famous faces have already appeared at the grass court grand slam despite the rainy London weather, with the elegance and history of Wimbledon seeming to attract high-profile visitors.
Diana Ross was spotted wearing sunglasses as a dark cloud hovered while Sex and City actress Kim Cattrall came to watch Venus Williams and her remarkable lace top with shorts outfit that would not have looked out of place in a Manhattan bar.
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall and wife of Britain's Prince Charles, was the only royal actually seen in the Royal Box on Center Court with the exclusive seats otherwise filled by the likes of the English cricket team.
"Great day at Wimbledon, Federer was on good form. The royal box seats are very comfortable, but apparently it doesn't mean I'm knighted yet," England cricketer Graeme Swann said on Twitter after no doubt munching on Wimbledon's revered strawberries and cream.
Team mate Kevin Pietersen, wearing a loud shirt that certainly would be banned by the conservative All England Club if worn by one of the tennis players on court, brought pop star wife Jessica Taylor of Liberty X fame.
World Cup-winning former England rugby coach Clive Woodward was also spotted enjoying the Wimbledon hospitality alongside top comedian Michael McIntyre.
Many more celebrities are expected to attend during the two-week tournament, and the roof on Center Court means they can now sparkle in front of the cameras rain or shine.
