TORONTO - Ryan Ellis of the Windsor Spitfires has been named the Ontario Hockey League's best leader on and off the ice.

Ellis won the Mickey Renaud Captain's Trophy on Monday, given annually to the top OHL team captain.

The 20-year-old from Freelton, Ont., set career highs with 24 goals and 77 assists last season.

"It is always exciting to win personal awards but to receive one that recognizes your leadership is extra special for me," Ellis said in a statement.
