Vancouver Canucks centre Manny Malhotra has been cleared to play in Cup final

VANCOUVER - Vancouver Canucks centre Manny Malhotra has been cleared to play in the Stanley Cup final.

Canucks coach Alain Vigneault made the announcement today after practice.

Vigneault would not say if Malhotra will be in the lineup Wednesday when they Canucks open the final against the visiting Boston Bruins.

Malhotra has been sidelined since March 16 when he was hit in the left eye by a puck.

He's undergone several surgeries since the accident.
