Northern Ireland's Michael Hoey won the Madeira Islands Open on Sunday for his second European Tour title, closing with a 1-under 71 for a two-stroke victory.

Hoey, also the 2009 Estoril Open winner, had a 10-under 278 total at Porto Santo Golf, the Seve Ballesteros-designed course that features 500-foot seaside cliffs.

Englishmen Chris Gane (71) and Jamie Elson (73) tied for second in the event also sanctioned by the developmental European Challenge Tour.
