Tampa Bay vs. Boston Game 2 live blog

7:42 p.m. The Bruins have some big guns in the karma department tonight. Johnny Bucyk is the honorary captain for the night, starting the flag-passing ceremony in the stands that has become quite the rage this spring. The Chief is one of the most famous of all Bruins and is still around the team a ton on a day-to-day basis, one of the main links back to old-time Bruins hockey. Plus, Marc Savard is also here. Savard has not been here for a game since shutting down his season almost four months ago because of the post-concussion issues. Each should providfe a boost to the Bruins in their own way.

7:30 p.m. After raising hopes that Patrice Bergeron could play, the center did not take the ice for game 2. This morning, Boston coach Claude Julien said that if Bergeron tooK warmups, he would play. Bergeron, who skated at practice this morning, his fourth-straight day on the ice, is not out for warmups, meaning he won't play. Milan Lucic, who mIssed the morning skate and was seen limping out of the Garden around noon, is out there and does not look overly hampered.

7:11 p.m. Welcome to TD Garden for Game 2, which starts in about an hour. Warmups have not yet begun, which is when we find out if Patrice Bergeron will play. If he takes warmups, Claude Julien said this morning that Bergeron would be in the game. That, too, could be further gamemanship by a coach that doesn't like to forfeit any potential edge he might have. Unfortunately, it isn't much of an edge as the Lightning have already been down this road. In Round 1, the Pittsburgh Penguins were without Sidney Crosby, who was coming back from a concussion. Each day, there would be speculation about Crosby's return and each day, Tamapa Bay would just assume Crosby was coming back and go about their business before winning the series in Game 7. An appearance by Bergeron in this game -- or his continued absence -- won't faze the Lightning in the least.
