VANCOUVER – Daniel Sedin and his brother Henrik combined for a minus-7 rating Saturday night in the Vancouver Canucks' 4-3 loss to the Nashville Predators at Rogers Arena.
The Sedins had their chances, especially in the second period, but could not find the score sheet and now have a combined five points in the five games against Nashville and are a combined minus-11.
Daniel, who was named a finalist for the Ted Lindsay Award earlier in the week, spoke to the media after the loss.
Q: What went wrong tonight?
A: I felt like we battled hard today. They got the first one on our power play, which is unacceptable and then, the second one from behind the net. Those are two tough goals to swallow, but we were still tied 2-2 going into the third. I thought we played a good game tonight … it's just one of those games where they scored from everywhere.
Q: How much better do you need to be for Game 6?
A: I didn't think we played too badly today. The first one on our power play is unacceptable. It can't happen and then they get the second one from behind the net. The third was where we have to make a push. If we keep playing like this, I thought we played a good game again tonight.
Q: Nashville was the more desperate team tonight – was that evident?
A: Of course they're going to be desperate, but I thought we played a good game, too. Early in the game we got to take charge and make a push. (Their shorthanded goal) can't happen. We played hard; we need to bring the same effort.
Q: How much better do you need to be personally?
A: Minus-4 can't happen so we need to be better. I thought offensively we played pretty well. We had a lot more time in their end. We need to score on our chances. Same old story.
