Michigan State and Central Michigan have come up with quite a way to celebrate the 100th anniversary of their baseball series.

The Spartans and Chippewas are set to play Wednesday night in the first college baseball game at Comerica Park, which opened in 2000 as home of the Detroit Tigers. Although the weather has been iffy in recent days — including a dusting of snow on Monday — both teams are looking forward to the opportunity.

The game gives Michigan State a chance to play — and win — a game in each of Detroit's four major professional sports venues in a nine-month span.
