SAN JOSE, Calif. (AP) - Los Angeles Kings forward Jarret Stoll has been suspended one game for a blindside hit that knocked San Jose defenseman Ian White out of Game 1 of a first-round series.

The NHL announced the punishment on Friday after holding a telephone hearing with Stoll.

White also will likely miss Game 2 on Saturday as the Sharks look to take a 2-0 series lead. White did not practice Friday and coach Todd McLellan says it is unlikely he will be able to play Saturday.

White's injury came at the end of the first period of a game the Sharks won 3-2 in overtime. With White facing the end boards behind the Sharks net, Stoll hit him from behind, driving his head into the glass. White fell to the ice and looked groggy. There was no penalty called on the play.
