VANCOUVER, B.C. -- The Canucks had one lineup change prior to Game 2 against Chicago on Friday, but it was a big one.
Mikael Samuelsson was a late scratch because he was sick, according to the team. He was replaced by defenseman Aaron Rome, who will play on the wing.
Samuelsson did not skate in the Canucks' optional morning skate Friday and coach Alain Vigneault did not address anything related to Samuelsson during his morning news conference.
Rome played 56 games for the Canucks this season, mostly as a defenseman. He did play in the regular season finale as a forward. He had a goal and 4 assists along with 53 penalty minutes. Rome has 1 assist in three career playoff games.
Samuelsson was playing with Ryan Kesler and Christopher Higgins on the second line. He had an assist and was a plus-2 in Game 1.
With Samuelsson out, Mason Raymond started the game on the left wing on the second line with Kesler and Higgins and Tanner Glass moved up to the third line to play with Cody Hodgson and Jannik Hansen. Rome went to the fourth line with Maxim Lapierre and Victor Oreskovich.
Vancouver's top line of Daniel and Henrik Sedin with Alexandre Burrows remained untouched.
Chicago also had one minor change. Marcus Kruger was inserted into the lineup for Jake Dowell.
Kruger came to the Blackhawks from Sweden late in the season and recorded seven shots on goal and four penalty minutes in seven games. He hasn't played since April 5.
Dowell skated 9:24 in Game 1 and finished with a shot on goal and one hit.
