Milwaukee Bucks center Andrew Bogut had arthroscopic surgery Tuesday to remove loose particles and scar tissue from his right elbow.

The team announced the surgery in a brief statement. The procedure was performed by renowned orthopedist Dr. James Andrews in Gulf Breeze, Fla.

Bogut averaged 12.8 points and a career-high 11.1 rebounds in 65 games this season. The 7-footer injured the elbow, along with his right hand and wrist, in an arm-wrenching fall to the floor near the end of last season.

The Bucks shut Bogut down the final four games of the season, when they had been eliminated from playoff contention in the Eastern Conference.
