Jarome Iginla scored his second goal of the game with 5:03 left to reach 1,000 points and help the Calgary Flames rally for a 3-2 victory over the St. Louis Blues on Friday night.

Iginla became the 77th player in NHL history to record 1,000 points when he beat goalie Jaroslav Halak with a wrist shot on a breakaway for the Flames, down 2-0 in the second period.

Iginla also had an assist. He has 39 goals and 41 assists in 79 games this season and 480 goals and 520 assists in 1,103 career regular-season games — all for the Flames.

Alex Tanguay added a goal and two assists, and Miikka Kiprusoff stopped 25 shots as Calgary remained three points behind Chicago in the race for final Western Conference playoff spot.

David Backes had a goal and an assist, Matt D'Agostini also scored, and Kevin Shattenkirk had two assists for the Blues, eliminated from playoff contention when Chicago beat Columbus 4-3 in a shootout.

D'Agostini pounced on a rebound of a loose puck in the slot to open the scoring 12:20 into the game, ending Kiprusoff's shutout streak against the Blues at 144:31.

Backes made it 2-0 lead with his 100th career goal, collecting Shattenkirk's slick feed into the slot and hammering the puck past Kiprusoff with 5:33 left in the second.

Iginla answered for the Flames just 1:21 after Backes' goal, backhanding a puck high into the net past Halak after a feed from Tanguay.

The Flames tied it in the third when Tanguay converted Iginla's pass and beat Halak upstairs 8:01 into the period following a St. Louis turnover in the neutral zone.
