NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Tampa Bay Rays have signed starting pitcher Wade Davis to a seven-year contract that could be worth $35.1 million to the right-hander, the team said on Thursday.

The first four years of the contract are guaranteed with the Rays holding options for the 2015, 2016 and 2017 Major League Baseball seasons, the team said in a statement. The guaranteed portion of the contract is worth $12.6 million.

Wade, 25, posted a 12-10 record with a 4.07 ERA in 29 starts as a rookie last year with Tampa Bay.
