BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) - Sabres goalie Ryan Miller will miss Buffalo's game against the New York Rangers on Wednesday night because of what the team is calling an upper-body injury.

During an interview with WIVB-TV a half-hour before the game, general manager Darcy Regier confirmed reports that Miller was hurt, but didn't disclose the severity of the injury.

Miller was hurt in the third period of a 4-3 loss at Toronto on Tuesday night, when he took a hard shot from Maple Leafs defenseman Dion Phaneuf. After gloving the puck to stop play, Miller was attended to by a Sabres trainer and was able to complete the game.

Miller is 33-22-8 this season, and has played a key role in helping in helping the Sabres go 24-11-5 since Dec. 28 to climb into playoff contention.
