Washington Capitals coach Bruce Boudreau was not in the mood to confirm his lineup for Tuesday's home game against the Carolina Hurricanes, but his actions might have spoken for him.

There is a chance forwards Alex Ovechkin and Jason Arnott could rejoin the lineup for the game. Neither was on the ice with two frequent healthy scratches, Tyler Sloan and DJ King. Instead, forwards Jay Beagle and Jason Chimera skated with them Tuesday morning.

"I'm not going to say who's in the lineup or who's out of the lineup," Boudreau told reporters. "Just talking to the trainers and finding out who's healthy and who's not healthy and who's ready to go, who's not ready to go. The players will all know, but you guys will know when you see it."

If fans get to see Ovechkin, it will be the first time in three games while he recovered from what was termed a nagging injury.

Ovechkin was coy on whether he would play, telling reporters, "We're going to see what's going to happen. It's the coach's decision so we'll see."

Arnott, who has missed the last six games with an undisclosed injury, also confirmed nothing, saying, "It seems all right. I've got to talk it over with them (coaches) and decide in a little while."

Other players were equally as tight-lipped, saying they had no knowledge of what the lineup would look like. However, they weren't shy about what Ovechkin and Arnott would bring if they were healthy and on the ice.

"Two great, offensive goal scorers for us," defenseman Jeff Schultz told the Washington Times. "With them now as close to 100 percent as can be, it's going to be a big plus for us."
