Pirates pitcher Lincoln hit in arm by liner, exits

Pittsburgh starter Brad Lincoln was hit in his pitching arm by Jimmy Rollins' line drive and left with a bruise Friday in the Pirates' 3-2 loss to the Philadelphia Phillies.

Lincoln was struck in the third inning. The Pirates' No. 1 draft pick from 2006 recovered in time to field the ball and tag out Rollins. Lincoln was charged with one run in 2 2-3 innings.

Lincoln flexed his right arm a few times and left with a trainer without throwing any practice pitches. The bruise is on the outside of his forearm, just below his elbow, and Lincoln said there was no reason yet to rule out his next start.

Phillies starter Roy Oswalt gave up two runs in six innings.
