Defender Julius James signs with Crew

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Defender Julius James has signed with Major League Soccer's Columbus Crew.

To clear a roster spot, the Crew waived defender Kwaku Nyamekye.

James, a 26-year-old old from Trinidad and Tobago, scored two goals in 31 games for D.C. United during the past 1½ seasons. He previously played for Toronto and Houston.
