Gerald McLemore scored 26 points as Maine snapped a six-game losing streak with a 70-53 victory over New Hampshire on Tuesday night.

McLemore scored three baskets during a 10-4 run late in the first half that gave the Black Bears (15-13, 9-6 America East Conference) a 27-19 lead with 5:46 to go until halftime.

Maine led 35-25 at the half and never by fewer than eight points in the second half, shooting 49 percent (25 of 51) overall to 35.3 percent (18 of 51) for the Wildcats (12-16, 6-9).

The Black Bears beat New Hampshire 64-50 when the teams met Jan. 25 in Orono, Maine, and were 8-1 in the America East before losing their past five conference games.

Sean McNally had 14 points and nine rebounds for Maine, and Troy Barnies added 10 points.

Tyrone Conley scored 16 points for New Hampshire, which also got 14 points and 11 rebounds from Dane DiLiegro.
