Dorsett activated by Jackets

The Columbus Blue Jackets have activated right wing Derek Dorsett off injured reserve after he missed three games with a head injury.

Blue Jackets general manager Scott Howson announced the move on Tuesday, in time for Dorsett to be available for the club's home game against Nashville.

The 24-year-old Dorsett suffered the injury on Feb. 11 against Colorado when he was struck from behind by the Avalanche's Peter Forsberg and fell backwards. He has three goals and six assists and 119 penalty minutes in 52 games with the Blue Jackets this season, ranking 13th in the NHL in penalty minutes.

The Kindersley, Saskatchewan, native has 11 goals, 17 assists and 374 penalty minutes in 155 career NHL games with Columbus.
