SAN SEBASTIAN, Spain (AP) — Raul Tamudo headed in Daniel Estrada's cross in the 55th minute for his third goal in four games, lifting Real Sociedad over Mallorca 1-0 in the Spanish league.

In gusting winds and rain, both teams had difficulties creating clear-cut scoring chances in the first half.

With its third straight home win, Sociedad (11-12-1) moved into eighth place, three points shy of a Europa League position. Eleventh-place Mallorca (9-11-4) hosts first-place Barcelona (21-1-2) on Sunday.
