Nick Barbour hit a buzzer-beating runner to lift High Point over Winthrop 70-69 in double overtime Tuesday night.

The Panthers (11-15, 7-9 Big South Conference) trailed 69-68 after a jumper from Reggie Middleton with 11 seconds left in the second overtime period. But a mid-range runner from Barbour with 2 seconds on the clock sealed the win for High Point as the ball bounced around the rim before dropping in.

Two free throws from Middleton tied the score at 49 with 15 seconds left in regulation, sending the game into overtime. Shay Shine forced the second overtime on a layup with 8 seconds to go.

Middleton finished with 21 points and Charles Corbin added 17 points and 15 rebounds for the Eagles (12-14, 8-8).

Barbour had 22 points and Shine added 19 for High Point, which led 27-13 at halftime but shot just 13.6 percent from the floor (3 of 22) in the second half.
