Seven-time major winner Karrie Webb had eight birdies and two bogeys in a six-under 66 that lifted her into a six-way tie for the lead after the first round of the Australian Ladies Masters on Thursday.

Webb mixed three birdies with two bogeys on her front nine but came in with five more birdies to tie Australian compatriot Karen Lunn, 2009 U.S. Women's Open champion Ji Eun Hee of South Korea, Cassandra Kirkland of France, Maria Hernandez of Spain and Diana Luna of Italy.

Yani Tseng of Taiwan, ranked No. 2 in the world after winning last week's Australian Women's Open, was among a group of seven players tied at 5 under after the first round at Royal Pines.
