Chase Fieler scored 17 points and Florida Gulf Coast held South Carolina-Upstate to just 14 baskets in 70-38 rout on Sunday.

The Eagles (6-16, 3-10 Atlantic Sun) held the Spartans (4-20, 3-11) to 27.5 percent-shooting (14 of 51), scored 17 points off 17 turnovers and won the battle of the boards 40-22.

Four of the Eagles' nine players who scored reached double figures as they snapped a three-game losing streak. Christophe Varidel had 14 points, Anthony Banks 12 and Tim Snyder 10 for Florida Gulf Coast.

Torrey Craig was USC Upstate's leading scorer with nine points, four coming from the free-throw line.

The Eagles scored the game's first nine points and led 38-25 with 14:20 to play. They then went on a 21-5 run capped by Kevin Cantinol's layup with 7:26 to play.

The Spartans were 6 of 27 from the field in the second half, including 1 of 12 from 3-point range.
