Chaisson Allen scored 22 points as Northeastern defeated Georgia State 70-65 in a Colonial Athletic Association game on Saturday, the Panthers' seventh straight loss.

Allen scored four points during an 11-0 first-half run that gave the Huskies (7-15, 3-8) a 24-12 lead. He added five points in the final 1:24 of the half, which ended with Northeastern ahead 33-23.

Georgia State (8-13, 3-8) got within seven, 37-30, in the opening 3 minutes of the second half, but a 12-0 run put Northeastern ahead 49-30 with 12:33 left.

The Huskies shot 52.4 percent (11 of 21) in the second half, although the Panthers held them without a basket over the final 6:56. Northeastern made 9 of 10 free throws in the final 1:33 to hold on.

Joel Smith added 17 points and Jonathan Lee 12 for Northeastern.

Eric Buckner led Georgia State with 13 points, Javonte Maynor added 12 and Jihad Ali 11.
