B.J. Monteiro had 20 points and six rebounds and Damian Saunders added 15 and six as Duquesne cruised past Charlotte 83-67 on Saturday in front of 3,687 fans.

The resurgent Dukes (13-5, 5-0 Atlantic 10 Conference) have won eight consecutive games for the first time since 1971-72. All of the victories on this streak have been by double digits.

This one was relatively easy, despite some statistics. Duquesne made just 6 of 24 from 3-point range, and was outrebounded 41-28 by the 49ers (9-10, 1-4).

But T.J. McConnell, the A-10's leader in steals, added six more to his total, and Saunders chipped in with five, as Duquesne forced 26 turnovers.

Chris Braswell had 18 points and 11 rebounds for Charlotte.
