Joey Accaoui scored 13 points and Sandro Carissimo added 12, including 10 in the second half, to lead Vermont to a 61-53 win over New Hampshire on Thursday night.

The Catamounts (13-5, 4-2 America East Conference), have won six of their last eight games and 20 of the last 23 against the Wildcats.

Vermont led 25-23 at halftime, then opened the second half on a 15-5 run, including a layup and two 3-pointers by Carissimo in the first 1:45.

New Hampshire (7-11, 1-5) got to 57-50 with 2:23 left on a Chandler Rhoads 3-pointer, then Carissimo, who hadn't scored since the 18:15 mark, hit a jumper. After another Rhoads 3-pointer, Accaoui made two free throws for the final margin.

The Catamounts outshot the Wildcats from the field 44.9 percent (22 of 49) to 30 percent (15 of 50).

Rhoads scored 20 points and Tyrone Conley 19, both on 5-for-13 shooting, for New Hampshire.
