Devin Gibson scored 20 points, had 10 rebounds, seven assists and five steals to lead Texas-San Antonio to a 63-58 victory over Northwestern State on Wednesday night.

Gibson, who entered as the only player in the country averaging at least 15 points (15.3), five rebounds (5.3), five assists (5.4) and three steals (3.1), improved all those averages as the Roadrunners (8-8, 2-2 Southland Conference) won for the second time in eight games.

Northwestern State (10-9, 2-2) trailed by as many as 14 points in the second half, but took a 50-49 lead on Devon Baker's layup with 6:30 left. The Demons fell behind 56-52, but then tied it at 56 with 3:59 to play.

Stephen Franklin's free throws gave the Roadrunners the lead for good with 3:41 left.

Melvin Johnson III added 11 points for the Roadrunners.

Will Pratt had 19 points and Shamir Davis 10 for Northwestern State.
