The Denver Nuggets say Chris "Birdman" Andersen will miss a week to rest a sore right knee and an ailing lower back.

Andersen played limited minutes in a blowout win over Phoenix on Tuesday night after sitting out the game before to rest his right knee. He missed the opening 13 games of the season after having surgery to fix a torn patella tendon in that knee.

The high-flying Andersen also fractured a bone in his back during a nasty spill against the Los Angeles Clippers on Dec. 3, forcing him to miss eight games.

Andersen is averaging is averaging 5 points and 6.1 rebounds this season.
