Roberto Luongo leads streaking Canucks to top spot in NHL

VANCOUVER (Reuters) - Roberto Luongo narrowly missed his third shutout of the season as the red hot Vancouver Canucks took over the top spot in the NHL with a 3-1 win over the Calgary Flames Wednesday.

Luongo finished with 43 saves, allowing Calgary's Tim Jackman to score with just 11 seconds left, to help the Canucks (26-8-5) win their seventh straight game while racing to a league-best 57 points.

Ryan Kesler and Kevin Bieksa scored goals in the first period and Daniel Sedin added a score in the second for Vancouver which outshot Calgary 44-21.

The Flames (18-20-3) have lost two in a row following a four-game winning streak.
