Jason Jones scored 16 points and Shawn Jones added 15 to lead Middle Tennessee to a 78-71 victory over North Texas on Wednesday night.

Trevor Ottley added 10 points for the Blue Raiders (6-9, 1-1 Sun Belt Conference), who shot 50 percent from the floor in the second half (13 of 26) to hold off North Texas (13-3, 2-1) for their second win in three games.

Jason Jones scored four points to key a late 7-1 run that extended Middle Tennessee's lead from 68-66 with 3:57 left to play to 75-67 with 57 seconds left.

North Texas, which had a six-game winning streak snapped, cut the deficit to 75-69 on Tristan Thompson's free throws with 41 seconds left, but could get no closer.

Josh White scored 15 points, Thompson added 14 and George Odufuwa had nine points and 10 rebounds for North Texas.

Middle Tennessee outrebounded the Mean Green 39-25.
