Lamar Trice scored 18 points, Shawn Atupem added 14 and Julian Norfleet 11 for Mount St. Mary's.
Atupem nailed a jumper in the paint with 6 seconds left to pull the Mountaineers within 67-64. Moldoveanu hit two free throws to seal the victory for American.
