Delaware defeats New Hampshire 16-3 in playoffs

Pat Devlin threw for 261 yards and two touchdowns and Delaware defeated New Hampshire 16-3 on Friday night in the quarterfinals of the Football Championship Subdivision playoffs.

The Blue Hens (11-2) will host the semis against the winner of Saturday's game between Wofford and Georgia Southern.

Although both Delaware and New Hampshire belong to the Colonial Athletic Association, they had not played since 2007.

The Wildcats scored first on a field goal late in the first quarter, then Delaware tied it up with 3 minutes to go in the half.

Devlin, who was 27 of 38, hit Nihja White with a 24-yard touchdown with 7:09 to go in the third, then found Mark Schenauer for a 9-yard TD with 13:04 left.

White had eight catches for 94 yards and Andrew Pierce rushed for 90 yards on 23 carries.

R.J. Toman threw for 136 yards, with one interception, for New Hampshire (8-5).
