Conner goal lifts Pens over Panthers for third straight win

SUNRISE, Florida (Reuters) - Chris Conner's goal at 12:56 of the third period lifted the streaking Pittsburgh Penguins to a 3-2 victory over the Florida Panthers on Monday.

Sidney Crosby netted his 15th goal of the season, and ninth in as many games, in the first period as team mate Kris Letang also scored to give the Penguins a 2-0 advantage.

Florida's Cory Stillman answered on a tip-in with 35 seconds left in the opening period and the Panthers (9-10-0) tied the game 2-2 on a shot from Bryan McCabe in the second.

Goaltender Marc-Andre Fleury made 27 saves for the Penguins (12-8-2) to preserve their third straight win and fifth in their last six games.
