Selby, Jayhawks await word from NCAA

Kansas super freshman Josh Selby has been talking to the media for the first time since he arrived on campus over the summer.

But the Jayhawks still don't know when — or even if — the NCAA will clear the 6-foot-2 point guard to play.

The Baltimore native has been able to attend class and work out with the team since early September. But the NCAA is still looking into both his academic eligibility and amateur status.

Coach Bill Self says he expects a resolution soon, and believes it will be positive. Selby said Tuesday his teammates have helped him through a difficult time.

The McDonald's All-American was rated by Rivals.Com as the No. 1 prospect in the nation.
